My husband Darrel is now going through his own stressers, at 74 years last December, as they try to pin down all that ails him! We thought toward the end of last summer that he'd had a stroke, but tests didn't confirm that. Excessive alcohol over the last several years did him no favors, and he has yet to master quitting smoking ..... and now I guess that could be too late. A few days ago a routine chest X-ray confirmed spots on his lungs, overlooked or maybe considered indeterminate earlier. Now deemed too advanced for surgery, they've been biopsied and proven malignant, we learned just today. Consultation with a new oncologist to discuss treatment options will be in just a few days. Meanwhile we in our family are working on coming to terms with this very new information. We are grateful my health seems to have stabilized since going through so much in the last several years. But this kind of thing does happen to all of us eventually, doesn't it? We will thank you for your support and love shown through caring as time goes on. Friendship Dove

Oh, Barb! I am so sorry for this turn of events!!! I am crying with you right now. Of course, you have my prayers and if you ever need to talk, I now have long distance free on my home phone 24 hours a day. Just shoot me an Email and I will be more than happy to talk and pray with you!! This wish is for you.............

Thank you for your message of reassurance, PC, and I will make contact with you again before too long ..... I'm more than a little overtired tonight, and think I'll turn in in the next few minutes and try to get more rest than I have been lately. There are several appointments scheduled soon that will require more time on the road again, so your petition is especially appropriate tonight, but I will call you before long, dear lady!

You all are in my prayers and you know I know more about lung cancer than I care too now. Please lean on me through this. Let me know when you want to talk for I can call you anytime also. May God wrap his loving arms around you and keep you strong through this! #JuliesAngel#
